I started thinking the other day after the announcement of Wrath of Heroes. Is the genre evolving right before our eyes? Are MMORPG's going to turn into a no leveling grind? Are they going to change more to a Co-Op style? Can you have a successful MMORPG that is a MOBA/DOTA style game? Could they be merging into a new genre of gaming?
The Wrath of Heroes is pvp based arena with three factions, or sides. The question is can a game company convert a moba/dota to a PvE type game? How would it work? Would players actually like the idea?
My idea is make dungeons, and raids like a moba/dota. I guess maybe something like Gauntlet the retro arcade game. You could make it less about gear, and more about advancing levels, and unlocking more dungeons.
I think it would be nice to just be able to raid bosses, and skip all the stupid stuff. They could make the fights really long, and epic. I have never been a raider type, but if I could hop in at any time, and kill bosses without worrying about gearscore it would be great.
