Playing Google+ Games

I never thought in a million years I would be playing games on Google+. I avoided them like the plague on Facebook. The past few days I have found myself strangely addicted to some of them. I just keep telling myself one more time, and the next thing you know I have played for several hours.

I am mostly into the single player games where other people don't have to be constantly involved. I am not going to be playing Farmville, Godfather, Mafia Wars, and etc. I actually like playing others like Bejeweled, Collapse Blast, Diamond Dash, Angry Birds, and Bubble Island.

These games don't really require friends to keep giving you stuff, but instead offer rewards to help them. I like this much better than give me a piece of lumber so I can build a fence around my farm, or silly stuff like that.

Right now my favorite of all is Bejeweled. I like it because each game is just a minute long. It is quick, easy, fun, and always a challenge to try to break your high score. You basically try to match three same colored blocks or more, and use special gems to gain special powers to blow out whole rows, aoe an area, or have a multiplier. You can also earn coins which let you gain boosts which also help raise your score.

All in all these games can be kind of fun, and give you a break away from other games. I recommend taking a look at some of these games on Google+, and see for yourself.

Why Does Angry Birds Have To Be So Addicting?

The last few days I have been playing Angry Birds on my phone, and now on Google +.  I never gave the game a chance before the other day.  I played one other time just to basically see what Angry Birds was all about.

I now know why the game is so popular, and hard to put down.  It almost reminds me of my old MMORPG days.  I just want one more level.  I keep telling myself after I clear this level I am going to do something else.

I clear the level, and than the next thing you know I am trying out the next level.  It looks easy so why not?  It gets you every time.  Every time you fail you think of a new strategy to clear the level.  I don't know how many times I have said to myself this is my last try.  Unfortunately three hours later I am saying the same thing.

It gets worse the higher levels you get.  There is just something that eats at you, and you just can't stop until you clear it.  It gets frustrating sometimes because you just want to ragequit when you do something stupid.

I don't know how many times I have been so close to clearing a level, and than I will accidentally shoot my bird straight to the ground, or I click than it blows up right by the slingshot.  It never fails that my stupidity always happens when it is basically a guarantee the level will clear with this one shot.

How good am I at Angry Birds?  I don't really know, but I really enjoy the puzzle solving genre lately.  I love a game that makes me use my brain like Portal, Refraction, Plants vs Zombies, and now Angry Birds.

I am cruising along pretty good so far.  I can see level 4 right around the corner.  Currently level 3-21 is causing me to rage, and I decided to write this up to calm down a little bit.

Droid Games I Enjoy Playing

I thought I would share some of the Droid games I enjoy playing on my phone, and soon tablet.  It is weird how simple games can be so entertaining.

Angry Birds

You are basically shooting birds with a slingshot into blocks you can knock down.  The blocks sort of remind me of a Jenga style game.  It is so simple, but once you start playing you can't stop until you clear the levels.

Plants vs. Zombies

You are trying to protect your house from zombies.  You plant pea shooter, sunflowers, cherries, walnuts, and more to combat the zombies as they walk toward your house.  Once again a simple game, but you find yourself trying to clear each wave of zombies.

Pac Man

It is a classic that you just have to play.  It brings back so many memories, and rolls of quarters I used in the arcade on this game.  It is basically you being pac man, and eating up all the dots in a maze before the monsters eat you.

Basketball Shot

If you have ever played pop a shot in the arcade than you will soon find yourself constantly trying to beat your high score.  Later levels the hoop begins to move to make it harder, but it makes it that more challenging where you want to keep playing.

Paper Toss

This brings back the days of school when you would wad up a piece of paper, and try to make it in the wastebasket without the teacher seeing.  It has some added difficulty with a fan blowing so it isn't always just a straight toss into the basket.

PBA Bowling 2

A fun bowling game.  No bowling shoes required.  A great way to bowl compared to hucking a fifteen pound ball down the lane, and killing your back.  There is something satisfying about bowling a better score on the game.

Whac A Mole

Just like the old arcade game of whacking moles.  Test your reflexes, and see how fast you can whack the moles.  I always love pretending they are people I hate in real life.  It really makes it even more fun.

Gaming Inspiration

The last few weeks I have been laying low when it comes to gaming.  I needed a break, and needed to rejuvenate my mind a little.  I think it worked.  Yesterday after looking in a Lego store it gave me all these ideas for building stuff in Minecraft.

I also bought Star Wars Force Unleashed II.  I loved the game last year at PAX, and I finally just bought the game.  You can't beat swinging light sabers around.  We will see how long the fun lasts, but for now it should give me hours of enjoyment.

I also decided to see what all the hype is about with Android Games.  I see how such simple games can become very addicting.  I have been playing a bowling game, pop a shot, Angry Birds, and I just downloaded Plants vs. Zombies yesterday.

I am really trying to broaden my gaming instead of being infatuated with one MMORPG, or game.
