This has been a very frustrating project to build in Minecraft. It seemed like building a hot air balloon was going to be really simple. It ended up taking me ten times longer to build than I ever dreamed it was going to take.
My initial hot air balloon looked to much like a square so I burned it down. I guess it was a little bit of a stress reliever. I tried several other attempts, and each time I just didn't like it. I knew there had to be a way to build it, and make it look cool like I thought it would.
I built this hot air balloon house from the ground by laying glass cubes on the ground resembling the biggest part of the balloon. I than built it up about 30-40 blocks high. I than slowly chipped away at the glass replacing it with colored wool. I than eventually broke away any remaining glass surrounding the balloon once it was completed.
It felt like the hot air balloon was huge. I was a little disappointed when I stepped back, and it looked five times smaller than it felt. It was too late to build it again. It just seems like it is in the middle of nowhere right now. I am not sure what I should build around it.
I built the house portion below the hot air balloon, and it is pretty cool, but I definitely need to dress up the area outside surrounding the balloon to give it a completed look. I am trying to brainstorm something up, but right now I am drawing a blank.
