I know it is hard to believe, but once again I found another gem on Steam. I decided to browse games less than $10, and I found Garry's Mod. Basically this lets you build things using the source engine, and any Valve games you own. I was able to use Team Fortress, and Portal.
I wasn't really sure what Garry's Mod was all about. It looked like something like Minecraft crafting so I thought it would be really fun building things. I just didn't realize how much fun it was really going to be.
Nassergamez saw me playing it on Steam, and sent me a message that I didn't seem like a Garry's Mod kind of guy. I told him it looked cool, and that I would be able to make my own game. He linked me a Youtube video of what most people do with the mod.
This video was so funny that I really was laughing out loud the whole time I was watching it. I haven't laughed that hard since I watched an infomercial on the Pooter. I just had to make my own parody video.
I attempted to make a parody video of the Skyrim incident at PAX, but I had a hard time trying to do it at first. I gave up on the idea for now, and instead decided to make my own corny zombie game.
This is where Zombies Must Die started to develop. I spent several hours placing cars, trains, trash, barrels, and other stuff to make up the scene for a zombie game.
Once I reached a certain point I started getting impatient, and just wanted to shoot zombies. I started adding zombies to my map all over the place. I could actually say my game was reaching the first Alpha stage.
There is so much more I want to add to the game such as a scoreboard, dishonorable kills for killing non zombies, and a timer. I am sure I will want to add even more, but for now that is what I am going to be working on for my next update.
I have a sneak preview gameplay video of Zombies Must Die right now. Let me know what you think, and any ideas you think I should add to the game. You can discuss this with all my readers by simply following me on Google + by clicking on the icon in the upper right hand corner of the blog.
