Giving Games A Second Chance

I think sometimes it may be a good idea to give games a second chance.  Tonight I discovered a certain aspect of Warhammer 40k Space Marine that I loved.  I know it is hard to believe, but yes I actually found something that seems pretty fun.

I can thank Steam for having holiday achievements right now, or I probably would have never logged into Warhammer 40k again.  It was because of this achievement that I found a part of the game I never knew even existed.  The campaign frustrated me months ago, and I just ragequit.

I am still learning how the Arena works, but it seems pretty simple.  It is a four player co-op where the main objective seems to be killing Orcs left, and right along with capturing points.  It reminds me of Orcs Must Die in a way, but no traps.   There are twenty waves to complete.

It looks like it has the basic concept of fps games these days with xp, and levels.  The more you progress the better weapons you unlock.

I could see this being really fun with four friends playing, and not just random people.  I am definitely going to be playing this game for the next few days, and see if I can learn all the ins, and outs of the game.

Killing Orks Is So Much Fun

Why is killing Orks so much fun?  I am not sure why, but killing hundreds of them in Warhammer 40k Space Marine is really fun.  I can tell already that this game is worth the $50 I spent on it, and I have barely even played it for ten minutes so far.

I love any game where I can kill multiple mobs, and barely lose any health.  Of course I am playing on Easy mode, but who cares.  Isn't gaming about having fun playing games?  The fast action is so much better than the slow fights in mmorpg's.

I thought I used to love the five minute one versus one fights in mmorpg's, but lately I find it is much more exciting to be killing multiple mobs instead.  It just makes you feel so powerful, and unstoppable.  I am not sure I could even stand to go through a whole spell rotation to kill one mob in an mmorpg after playing such fast action games lately.

I can't wait to play it even more after I get off work today.  It is funny because about a year ago you would have never caught me playing any game other than an mmorpg.  I think I may be done with them if GW2, and SWTOR don't keep me interested.
