Today I finally cut the final cord to my social media. I deleted my Google+ account earlier today, after deactivating my Twitter account a few months ago. If you suddenly see that I uncircled you it is because my profile no longer exists.
I feel that social media actually disconnected me from my gaming blog. I felt less and less interaction every day on Google+, and felt like I was just talking to a brick wall. I want to try to bring back the community on my blog, or at least give people a chance to leave me comments here.
I actually enjoy talking about games, and social media distracted me in so many ways it isn't even funny. I would literally spend hours a day scrolling through posts. Lately most of my posts went by with no comments even though I had almost 2000 people who had me circled, and even though I interacted with many.
I think something is really broken with G+ that really the interaction on there has come down to someone +1 something, and never saying anything. I needed to break away from something that I was no longer benefiting from, and actually how much it hurt the community on Wasdstomp when new people who didn't use G+, or Twitter was left out in the cold.
