I finally got back into the groove of playing Diablo 3 after almost a 40 day hiatus. I forgot how much I played before my hiatus. I thought it was around 100 hours, but actually it is 208 hours. I think I definitely got my $60 out of this game.
Last night I farmed the last quest line in Act I inferno a few times, and earned my first Paragon level which was about seven million xp. The next level is 8.5 million, and after playing a few hours today I am now working towards Paragon level 4 which is about 11.5 million. The next thing you know I will be Paragon Level 100.
It did seem the drop rate was a little better. I saw more yellows (rares) dropping than what I remember from before. I even have some dropping off normal mobs which seemed to never happen before the patch. Unfortunately most of the drops are still vendor trash, or salvageable at the blacksmith. I think after almost twenty farming rounds I maybe have five or six things worth selling on the auction house that were item level 63.
If you think the prices on the auction house were crazy before than watch out. They are even crazier now. Who has 100-500 million gold to buy one piece of armor? Here I thought I was rich with a lousy 17 million. I am in poverty compared to those prices.
The good thing is every column in the auction house is now sortable. You can now sort by time left, buyout, starting bid, and etc. It really makes navigating through the auction house much easier. One more great thing about the auction house is every auction can now be cancelled at any time. I really hated waiting for the stuff when it didn't sell.
I haven't personally seen any Legendary drops since the patch, but it seems they beefed up some of the new ones. It looks like no longer that yellows, and blues would have better stats than an orange.
Gems are now a light blue colored font when they drop now. They are no longer white, and get lost in the junk loot.
The gameplay really hasn't changed. I hope soon we get some new maps, or something to break up the monotony a little bit. Although the Paragon levels really didn't change much it still gives me something to look forward too. I am not like most players, and I love the grind. It gives me something to strive for instead of just farming, and staying level 60.
