I discovered another game on Google+ that is fun, and frustrating at the same time. You can play 8 Ball against just people in your circles, or anyone currently queued up on Google+. The game seems to be pretty popular because thee are always about 20k+ queued up to play.
The game initially picks your opponent, and decides on who is breaking. It is pretty easy to see exactly how your break is going to hit the balls. The game 8 Ball does confuse me a little bit though. I am no pool pro, but I have always played that if you hit a ball in on the break you automatically are that ball either stripes, or solids. It is different, and you must make another ball before it decides which you are.
The aiming, and power of your cue stick are pretty straight forward. My only gripe is that it is on a very short timer. If you fail to shoot before the timer is up it automatically becomes your opponents turn. It lets your opponent put cue in hand, and place the ball anywhere on the table. Once again I never played that way. If you scratch, or whatever you had to place the ball at the front of the table, and not past the break line. You aren't allowed to hit any balls on that side of the line.
In 8 Ball all these rules are non existent. If someone scratches you can place your cue ball anywhere on the table, and basically gives your opponent a free made shot, and run of the table. It can be very frustrating to lose a game due to these silly rules.
The game allows for slop which can also be very annoying. It is frustrating to see someone miss their intended shot, but luckily the cue ball veers off, and hits another of their balls in by mistake. The same goes for the final 8 ball. You don't have to call any pockets, and makes it very easy to win the game by luck.
The game 8 Ball can be fun, but with most of the standard rules not in the game it loses its fun factor pretty quick. It only takes a few games of losing due to these lack of rules that it becomes a Google+ game you never play again.
