I am not sure how I missed this announcement, but to me this is huge. I saw some random tweet today mention it, and I thought it was breaking news. After researching I see Onlive announced it way back in June. Why has no one even been talking about it?
What is Onlive doing that is so amazing? They are implementing tablets into gaming similar to the Wii:U controllers. This is going to be bigger than the Wii:U in my opinion. Why buy a new gaming system when you already own a tablet?
I think Onlive is going to be the gaming of the future. If companies start using this technology, and letting you play on your PC, or HDTV along with using your tablet as a controller it is going to be simply amazing. If I was Nintendo I would be a little nervous. The Wii:U probably won't even come out until 2012, and by than this new tablet controller could already own the marketshare.
If regular PC developers take, and run with this I see it exploding. With the Amazon Fire making tablets affordable everyone will be able to enjoy this new technology of gaming. I can't wait to see what kind of games companies develop in this next year using this.
What do you think about this breakthrough? Is this what keeps PC Gaming alive, and thriving?
