I finally made time to play Xotic after downloading it a few weeks ago. It is a simple shooting game with a high score, and bonuses based on speed, accuracy, points, and combo streaks. The game becomes highly addictive as you try to beat your own scores, and climbing the leaderboards.
I have become infatuated with at least getting to the top ten in each level on the leaderboards. I have a long ways to go, but I have improved my ranking a bunch already. My first few runs through the first level I ended up ranked over 1000+. I have now improved all the way down to rank 90.
I am having a hard time even coming close to the overall leader. I must be missing some huge bonus somewhere because my high score is a little over 700k, and the guy ranked #1 has a score over 2 million.
I am going to have to actually read the tutorial again, and see exactly what bonuses do what to maximize my points. I should continue on to each new level, but the competitive side of me makes me keep doing the same level over and over. I won't be happy until I am ranked #1.
The game basically has you shooting these red scabs that have scatter shot so when you shoot one, it could trigger ten to explode. There are other things like crystals, gems, and enemies to shoot also. The game is really simple to learn, and you will soon find yourself immersed into the game repeating levels trying to improve your score.
The game is very fast. I think I can complete the first level in just over 30 seconds, but each second becomes very important towards your bonus at the end. Can you beat by high score?
