Yes, I definitely have a love-hate relationship with Space Marine. I love so many things in the game, and at the same time I hate quite a bit too. How can I hate killing Orks (yes they spell it that way)?
I love that I can one shot kill so many Orks. You see all kinds of blood, and guts. Playing on the easy mode makes it almost impossible to die. I don't feel like I have to be some shooting, and melee expert to play. It is fun just to progress through the content, and story rather quickly than spending hundreds of hours doing the same thing in an mmorpg.
What do I hate? I love one shotting fifty orcs, but most of the killing is pretty pointless. You don't feel like it is leading you to something bigger, and grander. At least in Dragon Nest I feel like my mindless killing leads to loot, killing dungeon bosses, and completing the dungeon. You feel like you are accomplishing something. I don't feel that way in Space Marine.
Of course there are different chapters, and a story line but it just doesn't feel the same. I am going to finish Space Marine, and in the end I will just be able to say I one shotted a million Orks. So what? I doubt I will play through it a second time. You can only kill so many Orks without putting yourself to sleep.
Furthermore, I just want to shoot stuff. Every time I turn around I am getting some new weapon, and each one seems to have some special shot. I hate learning new stuff every five minutes. I just end up just using one weapon instead of switching it up all the time, throwing grenades, and more. Another irritating thing is every five seconds I have to reload my weapon. It drives me nuts.
