Is Onlive really a No-Brainer? I never even heard of it until PAX. I thought it was something to do with the Xbox 360 even when I saw it at PAX. It wasn't until the other day I realized it was cloud gaming. No discs, no downloads. You just click, and play.
It seems perfect to me. Access to 80+ games for $10 a month. That is less than a MMO subscription. I can imagine playing so many games that I would probably not buy normally. You figure 80 games times 50 bucks is $4k. With Onlive it would just be a little over $100 a year to play.
Can there really be a downside to Onlive? I can't really think of any. Why buy games for fifty bucks, and finish them in twenty hours, and never play them again? It is like renting games, and I don't understand why everyone isn't doing it.
It also solves the problem of buying a game, and hating it five minutes after you start playing it. I don't know how many times I have thrown money out the window like that. This makes it easy to test drive every game, and if you don't like it there are 79 others you may like.
Normally when buying a new game it means you either have to upgrade your hard drive, or uninstalling an older game to make space. Of course the next time you want to play you have to find the discs, product keys, and go through the whole process of installing again.
Onlive is definitely a No-Brainer for me. How about you?
