$5 Games Are Not Always Worth It

I fell for another Steam sale yesterday, and purchased Call of Juarez Bound in Blood.  I made the mistake of watching the game trailer, and thinking I was getting a great deal for a good game.  Once I loaded up the game I felt this huge virtual slap across my face.

The first thing to pop up on my screen is Techland.  How could I have not noticed that before buying it?  I figured I would give it a chance since the trailer did kind of get me excited about the game.  Dual wielding pistols is very cool.

The game starts off a little awkward.  It says you can play one of the two brothers, but initially you actually only get to play one.  You pick him, and than it goes to a cutscene.  After the cutscene it isn't real clear what you are supposed to do.  Initially I went up to the fort wall, and tried shooting.  Everything was too far away.  I decided to look around in the fort, and once I turned the corner it rolled to another cutscene.

It tells me to help fight the invaders at the wall.  I follow the guy, and start shooting away.  I failed several times because the other brother would end up getting shot, or someone would make it over the wall.  Once I cleared this area it told me to help out the right flank.  It wasn't real clear what I was supposed to do so I failed several more times.

I eventually moved about in the fort again, and met up with an npc, and of course it goes to another cutscene that tells me to help rid the enemies that made it inside the camp.  It isn't real clear who the enemies are, and who are you allies.  I just would shoot, and ask questions later.

I ended up trying to kill an enemy, and ran out of ammo.  I died again, and decided I had enough of Call of Juarez.  The good thing is I ended up saving fifty bucks because a new Call of Juarez came out today, and the reviews I read were just as bad.  I think after Dead Island, and now Call of Juarez I am never even getting near a Techland game again.
