My Minecraft Mountaintop House

After a few days I have completed My Minecraft Mountaintop House.  It spans a total of over 900 blocks on top of a mountain.  The view of the house from the ground is breathtaking.  You see it nestled on top of the mountain, as most of it is built on an overhang.

I started off by roaming across my map until I saw something that inspired me.  I saw this area, and immediately knew it was my next project.  I began my climb up the mountainside until I reached the top.  Once on top I lit all the trees on fire to clear the area for some excavation.

I had to dig away about three or four uneven layers of grass to make a level area to build on the whole mountaintop.  It took quite a while to accomplish it even with a diamond shovel.  Eventually I had it leveled out, and it was time to move to the next step.

I layed my outer foundation for my house using the edge of the mountain as a guide all the way around.  It took over 300 blocks just to make it.  I than added a second layer before adding the floor.  I decided to go with a light blue wool for the carpet inside.  After it was done I didn't really care for it too much.  It looked too much like water, but after laying 900 blocks for the floor there was no way I was going to do it with a new color.

I continued building the outer walls, and adding huge scenic windows throughout.  Once I finally finished I started laying my blocks for my floorplan.  The house is huge, and it took some time to get all the room walls up.

After that I started on the decorating by adding beds, chests, fireplaces, a shower, a hot tub, and so on.  I am starting to feel like all my houses inside are starting to look the same.  I have run out of ideas of things to make.

The final part of the house was adding the roof.  The house is such an odd shape I couldn't decide on how to do it.  I just ended up making the roof pretty generic, with a few little touches to make it stand out a little.
